Mission Opportunities

What if “church” was more than a noun—it was also a verb?
As we rethink what it means to be a church and to be members of that church, we’re reminded of the needs of others—right in our own back yards and around the world. Walking in Jesus’ footsteps, we’re called to action. That action can be taken in any of hundreds of programs, missions and initiatives.
Do you have a heart for helping and serving others?
The mission of the Go Team is to identify, promote and support involvement in activites that further the hopes and concerns of our community and world. We stand for justice, environmental survival and human well-being, and hope to inspire people to become involved, loving disciples of Jesus Christ.
Are you interested in serving Christ by ministering to those in need in our local and world communities? Being part of the Go Team will provide you the opportunity to help educate, inspire, and encourage members of Aldersgate to be the hands and feet of Christ right here in Wilmington, across America and throughout our world.
Aldersgate reaches out to distant parts of the globe. Aldersgate members and friends, are inspired by the Go Team as we Go into the world as Jesus' disciples.

Student Missions
The mission-minded youth of Aldersgate have participated for several years in Local and US mission trips.
Student Ministry at Aldersgate exists to:
reach students
connect them with Christian students and leaders
help them grow in their faith, and
challenge those growing to discover their gifts/ministry
and honor God with their lives

Volunteers in Mission (VIM)
Several times each year, adult volunteers in Volunteers in Mission (VIM) participate in a number of “hands-on” outreach opportunities locally, nationally, and even globally. Since hurricanes Katrina & Rita, a team of volunteers has helped out in the Sabine Pass, TX, an area hit hard, which received little or no government assistance.
For more information or to get involved, contact a VIM Coordinator.
