Chancel Choir Traditional Service in Sanctuary

The Chancel Choir has a rich heritage and is a vibrant part of the 11 a.m. Worship Service. The ensemble rehearses every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and presents every week in service. The group is approximately 70 strong and sings a variety of styles that includes classical, traditional, modern, spirituals and gospel. The Chancel Choir presents two annual concerts (Christmas/ Spring) and is always looking for opportunity to reach out into the community. Recent performances by the Chancel Choir include the Mozart Mass in C “Coronation Mass”, the Fauré Requiem, and the Dubois Seven Last Words, each with orchestra. Kurt Collins is our very talented organist who makes the Corbel-Zimmer organ come to life as he accompanies the Chancel Choir each Sunday. New members are always welcome.

Gateway Ringers (Handbells)

The Gateway Ringers is Aldersgate’s primary Bell Choir, and participates in worship and special presentations throughout the year. This dynamic musical ensemble is comprised of individuals with a love of traditional handbell music, as well as non-traditional and contemporary music. No experience is required, although some background in reading music is necessary.

Aldersgate Brass

An instrumental group drawn from the Aldersgate community to contribute to the worship experience by accompa-nying the Chancel Choir or as a stand-alone brass ensemble. Rehearses in the Sanctuary on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. New members are always welcome.

The Journey (Contemporary Praise and Worship)

The Journey is our praise and worship team, and is the namesake to our 9 a.m. contemporary worship experience. Exploring music from today’s Christian artists like Jared Anderson and MercyMe, to traditional hymns and praise songs, this group is comprised of musicians from within the church that are lead by the spirit, open to new and exciting forms of worship, and have a passion for Christ.

Check out the online calendar for specifics about rehearsal times and locations. For additional information or to become involved, contact Jeffrey Manns, the Director of Music Ministry.
